We in Stevington are fortunate  to be inheritors of a very beautiful old church - St. Mary the Virgin.   We must not fail future generations by allowing it to fall into disrepair or, in the extreme, to be closed down, as has happened to many churches throughout the country.

Renovation work is ongoing and costly.   That is why the Parochial church Council decided in 2010 to re-form a 'Friends' group to help provide funds for the maintenance, restoration and development of the church, churchyard and Church Room.  The PCC continues to be responsible for day-to-day running costs, including clergy fees and pensions, utilities, insurance and consumables.
